Introduction

The Graduate Program in Biochemistry and Immunology at the Federal University of Minas Gerais was established in 1968, associated with the Department of Biochemistry and Immunology. Offering Master's and Doctoral degrees, as well as Postdoctoral opportunities for candidates from across Brazil and abroad, the program currently has 46 Postdoctoral Researchers, 95 graduate students (31 Master's and 64 Doctoral) and 41 permanent faculty members and advisors conducting experimental work across 22 well-established research lines distributed in the three major areas of the Program: Biochemistry, Immunology and Molecular Biology. The program's excellence is nationally and internationally recognized, and it received the highest rating, level 7, from CAPES in the 2021 Quadrennial Evaluation.
